I was the naysayer. I did not want a Doula, a midwife or any help. I felt more than capable of managing my wife's emotions and childbirth.  I also love making my wife comfortable regardless of how I feel.  Jessica was that for my wife. Initially.

It wasn't until we were in labor that the true beauty of a Doula in general became clear to me. I look back fondly on her involvement and our benefit was immeasurable.

And, she helped me.

Helped me to not burn the hospital down when everything seemed to be cracking in failing around us. Helped explain the process and sort my thoughts.

We were dealing with a lot and there's a lot of mystery to the process. She held both of us as if we were family to her.  It worked out just fine in the end but it was bumpy.

She's a natural.

She's a consummate professional who loves the absolute shit out of helping people.

You're a fool not to have jessica by your side.

Best, tr

As a mother to a pregnant daughter I was very worry about who will be her midwife. All my concerns vanished the moment I met Jessica. We all just loved her from the moment we met her. Always a big smile on her face with a lot of confidence and most of all... professionalism.
Jessica was available all the time beyond expectations to answer questions and to remove any concerns we had. We felt that we could trust Jessica 100% and went to the delivery proses very calm. It took Jessica 10 min to arrive to my daughter's home. She went to action right away with her big smile giving all of us the confidence that every thing is under control.
Delivery was smooth , safe , and beautiful. I like to thank Jessica for giving me the most amazing experience be present at my daughter's delivery and hearing my Dean crying for the first time.
I highly recommend Jessica. Thank you again. -Sigal

I found Jess in my journey when I was first just in search of for a doula. I knew I didn't want your average hospital birth, but I wasn't sure where and what kind of birth I was looking to have. First, she explained she was no longer offering doula care because she was finally off to her start of her own Midwifery care.. And she said then she would love to meet with me if I was interested in a home birth. At the time, I wasn't aware I was. But I was sure blessed to find Jessica through my journey of my first time pregnancy and not wanting to roll with the normal, highly medical interventioned prenatal care and birth that I was being offered through my medical insurance of Kaiser. Honestly, you will never find another woman with their heart right along in the right place with their profession. She is so driven and caring, I was so happy to get to know her and develop the trusting relationship that became so crucial in those final moments during my natural home birth. It was such a breath of fresh air to know myself and baby were in amazing hands throughout the entire journey, she was right there every step of the way. Through being able to openly discuss any medical, dietary, etc. of my prenatal care, to her knowing exactly what would be best for the health and safety of my baby and I (while keeping the knowledge of what she knew I ultimately wanted out of my birth) when it came down to making the right call when my little one was on her way out to make her first grand appearance. There were some complications that arose throughout, but we all triumphed together and it made for an incredible experience I wouldn't ask to change any little detail. Even now, in my first days as a new mother Jessica has been such a dramatic help in her guidance and caring to know that we are doing well and off to a beautiful start with our new family.

Jessica is an amazing person I am just glad to know in general. She not only was my midwife, but she became a wonderful friend throughout the entire journey. She's passionate, so loving and kind hearted, and always striving for more. Honestly, she's incredible to be able to balance and juggle the amount of work, school, and person life she does all at the same time. There are many traits I highly admire in her as an individual. I'm really happy to have been apart of her journey as well at becoming one of the top midwifes even available in Southern California, because she's going to be it.

Babies! Gotta catch 'em all!- Tori

Jessica is the most dedicated, passionate and sincere birth professional you can find.  She is accessible and full of information, with a perfectly balanced perspective honoring both natural/holistic care and medical research. Jessica supported me in achieving the exact birth I had hoped and prepared for, and provided me with unconditional support and nurturance during one of the most special and emotional experiences of my life.  She exceeded my expectations with the birth of my daughter and I feel blessed to have her on my journey with baby number two! -Danielle E.

Jessica delivered our first baby at home last month and it was an amazing experience. She helped us through everything from prenatal care through to postnatal. There's nothing I would change about the experience. She helped reassure and educate us where needed and made the entire experience smooth and as stress free as possible.- Ryan L

As a first time mother, I wasn't sure what to expect when it came to giving birth. After digging into what my options were, my husband and I opted for midwifery care. I researched local birth centers and midwives, and I came across Jess. After narrowing down our options, I contacted her and we met for a consultation. She eased our minds about the whole process and thoroughly answered our many questions. She was professional and knowledgable, but most importantly - personable and down to earth. As soon as we got in the car after our meeting, my husband and I both agreed that we wanted to move forward with her care and texted her before we even left the parking lot.

Another huge perk of Jess's care is that it is all done in the comfort of your own home, and she works around your schedule, instead of vice versa. She was always readily available by text, phone, or e-mail. Jess was very thorough and made sure there were never any loose ends or unanswered questions at the end of each visit. She also helped my husband and mother feel included during the check-ups - letting them listen to baby's heartbeat and feel baby's position.

As for the birth day, I couldn't have asked for better care. I'm a very shy and modest person, but Jess is a great judge of character and was very intuitive to our levels of comfort and boundaries. She gave us space when she felt necessary, and allowed my husband and I to share the intimate moments of bringing our first child into the world. I didn't have the easy labor I'd hoped for (it was all posterior), but Jess and my birth team never let me believe that I couldn't do it. I had the absolute freedom to move from place to place at any point, with their undivided attention & assistance. I could not have finished it unmedicated nor without their encouragement & refusal to let me believe that I couldn't do it anymore. As insanely modest as I am, I felt so much better and comforted having everyone surround me to see it through. Leading up to birth, I watched so many birth videos of women laboring calmly & quietly & know I could have done the same had my pelvis cooperated & allowed baby the proper position. Instead, I sounded like a dying hyena! I feel certain I would have ended up with an unnecessary c-section had I been in a hospital setting. But we conquered homebirth without any interventions & my baby girl arrived healthy, safely, & was immediately alert to her surroundings. I got to crawl into bed afterwards, and got served mac n cheese!

I had a relatively easy postpartum recovery compared to others I know who have given birth. Jess came by our home just about every day the week following birth, and she always made sure we were well taken care of. We forged a friendship throughout this whole process, and we are forever grateful for her for bringing the best gift we will ever know into our lives, safely and with love. We couldn't ask for more. The amnesia of childbirth wore off quickly and we look forward to working with her on baby number two someday. ;) Bre. M.

My husband and I have so much love for Jessica and her team. She not only helped us had a successful home water birth and also a successful VBAC.

When we find out we are having a second child, we wanted to try having a natural birth again (previously has a c section birth) but our doctor suggested us to through the entire hospital process and having another cesarean birth with be the better route for us. We felt helpless and no other choice but to follow our Dr's decision, until one day my chiropractor referred Jessica to us and that completely changed our life. When we first talked on the phone she sound so sweet and was patiently answered all my questions and concerns. The best part I loved about Jessica is she was able to do home visit, and for a preggie mom with a toddler this is the best choice for our situation. When Jessica came to our initial home visit, me and my hubby  was amazed about her background as a midwife and a licensed nurse. She could tell we were nervous about having a natural birth and she suggested us to do more research. The more we researched the more we learned that the successful rate of VBAC was actually higher than we thought. Knowing all the benefits for home water birth, we gain our confidence back about natural birth and that would be the best for me and my baby. My entire pregnancy with Jessica was GREAT compare to my previous pregnancy. She was always here for me to answer all my questions and concerns via phone call or text. She also was closely monitor my diet, healthy and exercise. With out her engagement and support, I wouldn't know where to start with. I felt so much cared and loved by this lady, and trusting her will prepare me for a successful natural birth.

Almost two weeks ago, our LO was finally here. Delivered at home with Jessica's team. Few days before my labor, my contraction wasn't consistent but Jessica noticed I had lost my mucus plug, and I had a high water leak. Jessica didn't hesitate at all and came to my house two days in a roll to exam me to make sure me and my baby are ok. We waited for 3 days but the contraction was still inconsistent, so she suggested to induce the labor with some natural remedies such as herbs, castor oil and nipple simulation. It worked right away, my contraction comes in waves afterward. My entire labor was so quick it was 7 hours and I only pushed for 45 mins. Jessica also had magical hands that she helped unwrap the arm and cord around my baby's neck when he's coming from the birth canal. This is another level of skill we waitressed ...she is truly a miracle midwife. We can't thank Jessica and her team enough for this big day of our life. My entire recovery was also so much better compared when I had a c section birth. She came to check on my and the baby next time. And through out my postpartum she kept checking on my every other day to ensure me and my LO are ok, I never had to leave my house for me or my baby's check up. I felt so heart warming knowing my midwife continue to be there for me no matter what. We love Jessica so much and so happy with her service. We can't imagine going with another midwife. She had safe me from having another surgery which I can't thank enough.

So....if you are a still searching for that BEST midwife, stop, you have found the best miracle midwife right here. -Iris L.

We are first time parents that live a progressive and healthy lifestyle. Both my fiancé and I are in our late twenties, and once we found out that we were pregnant we started researching... We knew we wanted a natural home birth, but didn't know what to expect.

Jessica met us for a consultation & lunch. She brought a binder and explained in detail what to expect in terms of working with her throughout our pregnancy. We liked that she was closer in age to us, and that she shared many of the same principles we believe in. We committed, and chose Jess as our midwife.

She. Was. Amazing. We set up a plan (diet, routine, what not to do, etc). She was there 24/7 if we needed her or had a question about whether something was normal or an emergency. She helped us through every step of our pregnancy. She also recommended SO MANY helpful resources from classes to chiropractic needs to support groups.

When it came to our birth Jessica was poised and brought with her a calm & confident demeanor. She arrived early in the morning, and stayed with us for the better part of two days. Through each contraction Jessica was there to provide her loving support and direction. The woman who was once our midwife, instantly became family during our birth.

We highly recommend Jessica if you're looking for a midwife that is honest, passionate, and caring. If you're searching for the perfect midwife, stop. You just found her. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts Jessica. Love, the Wottlin family :)

We used Jessica for the birth of our second child. It is almost a year ago that we first met with Jessica. I had recently moved to Irvine and found myself pregnant and needing a midwife. I had used a midwife and birth center with my first but wanted a home birth this time. Jessica was very friendly, knowledgeable and able to help put my husband at ease too. Another huge benefit to choosing Jessica is that she came to me. That was helpful with a toddler but also letting her get use to our home.
She was great with our whole family including our dog. She didn't care where he was during the birth. She was almost always accessible by phone either text or call unless she was in a birth which I seemed to hit a lot but totally understandable as that showed the dedication she would have for me birth.
She was the best the final month as my daughter flipped breech at in December at 36 weeks. She helped guide us to our only option to keep a home birth, Dr Stu. Even though we had to have him there to deliver our daughter she still stayed our midwife and main contact. She gave extra visits to check positioning, drove to Santa Monica to meet with Dr Stu with us, and went the extra mile.
During labor she had essential oils to help, suggestions on positions to increase labor, and was very hands on through the whole time. She was an advocate for what I wanted and help assist Dr Stu with the delivery. I would use Jessica again and highly recommend her. She also is great at our postpartum follow up.
A great midwife and good friend after knowing her a year. She is passionate about helping you achieve your goals and loves on the newborn babies. She makes you feel relaxed and comfortable. We are glad we found her.-Meredith P

I consulted with many midwives prior to finding Jessica.  My desire for a home birth didn't negate the requirement for a knowledgeable and qualified practitioner.  What differentiated Jessica from the rest was her extensive (and continuing) education.  She even resonated with my husband because she is easy to talk to and down to earth.

Jessica is thorough in her care of mom and baby.  I appreciated the time she gave during our appointments.  She also makes herself available by phone and email.  If I had a question or concern, I was able to receive an answer quickly rather than having to wait for our next visit.  I had a better understanding of my developing child, and felt empowered and informed during my pregnancy.  When my daughter was ready to make her entrance, Jessica brought the student midwife that I connected well with during prenatal visits.  I didn't tell Jessica I liked her in advance.  She was observant enough to see that on her own, and that really resonated with me.

I am so fortunate to have met Jessica.  With her support and guidance I was able to achieve the labor and birth I desired.  Welcoming my daughter in the comfort and familiarity of my home is something I will treasure for a lifetime.  - Jennifer

I just delivered 7 days ago and Jessica was my midwife.  I had 2 hospital births and for the 3rd baby i wanted to try a home birth.  I had gone to different birth centers, met other midwives and read up on the reviews of other midwives and birth centers.   But ultimately i decided on wanting Jessica as my midwife as when I met her in person, she was very sweet and sincere and I felt comfortable with her personality.  She also had a nursing license which my husband would have liked in that she had a medical background as well.  Also, with other birth center midwives, it seemed like you had to go to their birth center to do the prenatal appointments.  with Jessica, I liked that she would come to where I was, if that was home or another designated location.   I liked that she emphasized on nutrition and how I was taking care of myself throughout the pregnancy.  I had a good obgyn with my other 2 kids but the appointments were always very quick.  I liked that Jessica would spend time making sure that I was getting proper nourishment, seeing if I was exercising, asking if I had any stress, etc. and just doing different prenatal checks and also taking the time to answer questions.  The appointments were a lot more personable than with the obgyn.  Also, my obgyn never delivered my other 2 kids.  So even that was a new experience in that my health care provider for baby 3 would also be the one to help deliver my baby.

So fast forward to week 39, my water broke in the middle of the night.  We called Jessica and she came in about 20/  25 minutes at around 12am .  Her 2 other midwife assistants were there as well.  They took my vitals and just kind of allowed me to peacefully go through my contractions.  For me, I like quietness and so it was nice to be at home, unlike the hospital setting with my other 2 births which had a lot more "noise" than I would have liked.  Also, being at home I realized that going through contractions standing up was so much "easier" to go through than lying down in the bed which is what happened with my other 2 births. =)  So I had also wanted to experience "laboring" in the water tub.  So when I was "ready" to labor in the water, I sat and after some contractions and pushing, baby was born.  Through it all, Jessica was calm and collected and she knew exactly what she was doing.  My baby  had the umbilical cord wrapped around twice and my husband said she just unwrapped it and the baby was just fine.

After baby was born, she and the other midwives took very good care of me as well as the baby.  And she still continues to monitor the baby and I.

I am thankful to have met Jessica and to have had her be my midwife.   She has this natural instinct, wisdom and knowledge that helps her in being a great midwife that cares for the mamas she helps and their babies.  I highly recommend Jessica!- Nancy K

I have had the honor of attending many births. I recently was blessed to work with Jessica. This was by far the most serene birth environment I have been a part of. Her presence alone allowed her patient to labor like she needed, like she wanted. Every birth is different, but watching Jessica it was as if she knew exactly what was going to happen and how to best work with the laboring mom without missing a beat. She is the best I've seen. Reach out to her. I'm certain it will be the best decision you make for you, your baby and your birth. --Embrace Birth Photography

Jessica is a true gem in the birth world. It is a daily commitment and genuine passion to provide women and their families with evidence based, mindful, and loving health care during pregnancy and beyond. Jessica exemplifies this passion with zealousness and it is so evident she is dedicated to her clients 100%. I had the pleasure of working alongside Jessica as a doula and her midwifery skills are innate. We had a long start, and Jessica intuitively knew that baby was in a less than ideal position assuming a hand or arm was in the way  making my clients  contraction pattern unpredictable. We communicated together the whole day and I heeded her advice and watched as my client transitioned into a lovely active labor pattern with steady waves surging over her body. As the time drew nearer and near, Jessica arrived with her lovely team and we all supported my client with loving care. She pushed her 9 lb 1 oz baby boy earthside, and low and behold, baby had not one but two arms and hands by his face which explained the irregular labor pattern earlier in the day... I was so blown away with her confidence and guidance for my client. She is open, loving, down to earth. A smart woman with a passion for delivering babies and uplifting women into the beautiful season of motherhood. Every woman who has the opportunity to deliver with Jessica is a blessed mama!! Thank you for all you do for women.- Taylor

My first pregnancy, I was a nervous wreck and I dreaded my birth. The plan was a natural hospital birth, but if I succeeded I would be the first to succeed on my mother's side in 3 generations- including my older sister. All of them had ended up with c sections. I didn't want a hospital birth but there was no way we could afford to pay out of pocket for a home birth. On the outside, it looked like my birth did turn out successfully. It was a natural vaginal delivery. But I was traumatized by the hospital experience. I am an RN myself and knew what to expect but I wanted none of what happened to me in the hospital and I still have a difficult time dealing with the memories.
Enter my second pregnancy. Also unplanned, so I was still nervous about financial aspects of our lives. We couldn't really afford it this time but there was no way I was going back to a hospital so we decided we would do everything we could to make it work. And I especially wanted to make it happen after meeting Jessica. I found her on Yelp, said yes because she was available for my due date and did home visits... and she is an absolute Godsend; she was, right from the beginning. I don't like meeting new people and I really didn't want to be pregnant but Jess made me feel so comfortable in my own skin and she was (is) the most supportive, encouraging person I have in my life besides my husband. And I've known her less than a year! When you have this sort of relationship with your "healthcare provider", life seems to get simpler. Birth gets simpler. I worried about transferring because I was terrified of laboring in a hospital again but Jess would always talk me down and she knew exactly what I needed to hear (pep talks in addition to reminders that home birth with a midwife is ridiculously safe). During my labor she was amazing. Well, that plus during all the time I thought I was in labor. My first labor came without warning and was reasonably quick; this one dragged. But Jess was just a text away. She didn't give me a hard time when I freaked out but she did set me straight if I got too crazy. And when the time did come- you won't believe the difference between a hospital birth you didn't want and a home birth you did. Saying the difference is drastic is an understatement. My first birth, despite having almost no physical issues (besides tearing with an under 6# baby, thank you lithotomy position), I was immediately filled with fear, guilt, and loathing, which turned into a nasty case of PPD/A. This time, even though we didn't get my tub filled up all the way (don't take too many showers! Tip...), my baby decided to spice things up on her exit, I ended up with a hematoma, couldn't pee and needed a catheter...(and trust me, a midwife can TOTALLY handle all of this and more in your home without breaking a sweat) I was happy. Also, I didn't tear at all with a 7#10oz baby who came out wonky, imagine that! I was home, I was in bed with my husband, my toddler had seen her mama birth her little sister, and I was amongst friends. It was extremely important (therapeutic) to me that my daughter see the birth if she could (as in, she wasn't asleep), and Jess made it happen. I actually had time to talk things out so she knew exactly how to help me and make my birth special. You don't get that with a doctor, or even a hospital midwife (which I had at Kaiser- and I did really like my midwife, but a 10 minutes appointment can't ever hold a candle to an hour long visit, plus texting, and phone calls that actually get returned). Also, my toddler loves her. She got used to Sundays being Jessica days (I have no idea how a 2 year old knew days of the week but she did). Jess let her "help" measure my belly and use the fetoscope. One day, I asked her who her best friend was. "Jessica!" was her enthusiastic response.- Rochelle H

When choosing my practioner, it was extremely important to me to find someone who I could trust. Jessica is not only competent, she's kind, funny, and tremendously likeable. She made sure all of our questions were answered, offered practical advice for everything from morning sickness to back pain, was constantly available through text or phone calls, and was a continual source of encouragement.
Jessica's advice and recommendations helped me make the medical choices that best reflected my individual needs and desires, as well as my baby's.
My labour climaxed with a case of shoulder dystocia, a terrifying obstetric emergency whose outcome relies heavily on the skill of the practitioner. Jessica's recognition of the situation and quick maneuvering resulted in my daughter being born healthy and uninjured. I now have a wonderful two month old, and while we've moved out of state, Jessica still checks on us. If you are looking for a homebirth practitioner who is highly qualified and truly cares for the well being and success of her clients, then you should absolutely meet Jessica-- she has my highest recommendation! Katie!

Jessica was an amazing person to have on my birth team. I felt very comfortable with her from the very beginning and she worked very hard to establish a personal relationship with me and my family.  My homebirth went as expected and I really appreciated all the postpartum care that Jessica provides.  I really enjoyed her sweet bedside manner, and felt totally safe and taken care during my pregnancy, labor and delivery. I was impressed w the level of postpartum and well baby care that was provided as well, it is such a different experience than the hospital birth! Liz

In my 36th week of  pregnancy, my husband and I decided to do home birth and we chose Jessica as our midwife. I was seeing an OB/GYN, but in 34th week, as my due date grew near, a more clear vision about the birth experience I wanted came to my mind and I realized my OB/GYN was not good match for me. I discovered that home births and birth center births were covered by medical insurance. I visited 2 birth centers and Jessica as a private midwife.

At our first meeting with Jessica, we didn't know much about home births even though it was pretty close to the baby's arrival, but Jessica gave us positive energy and all the information we needed! This was especially true for my husband who was not so sure about home birth and was afraid of an emergency situation happening.  Jessica gave him confidence with detailed explanations and through our weekly check ups.

On the day of our son's birth, Jessica gave me very good advice even before her arrival. I was somewhat assuming my labor would go quickly, but it actually took 28 hours from the start of my contractions. The slow and lengthy process turned out to be due to my son entering the birth canal with his arm up over his head!

The time between contractions was every 5 mins many times, but it didn't stay constant.
I asked Jessica if I was already in active labor. But she said "in active labor, you should have more consistent and regular contractions, so try to relax for now." I didn't have much knowledge, so I was wondering and worrying about why my labor wasn't progressing?! I started to feel pain on my left abdominal, in addition to contractions. Jessica accurately predicted my baby was mal-positioned. She suggested me to be in one pose for 45 mins that might fix his position. After that, she suggested me to take a nice bath and really relax. I was feeling down but I felt much better after I took a nice bath! Then we went for a walk to try to help my baby to descend.

During the walk my active labor seemed to kick in! Jessica came just after we returned from our walk.  As soon as I saw her, I felt relieved! She checked my cervix and finally it reached 5cm!! Since I was now in active labor,  she said I could enter the birth pool if I wanted!  Jessica and her assistant filled up the pool and I began my active labor in the pool. Jessica is very good at coaching mom in labor!

One of the most beneficial things about home birth is that you are supported by birth professionals during your whole your active labor! I was really worried about my labor not progressing and I felt I couldn't handle the pain well. But because of Jessica's strong encouragement, confidence, and dependability, I was able to overcome.  Pushing was hardest for me and I really thought His exit can be explored! Lol Finally, Jessica saw his head and elbow coming together and she was able to pull his arm out. His the other arm was also on weird position behind his back! But he finally came out!!  I think Jessica's technique was very very good. If I was at the hospital, probably they would've done C-section. I am so glad I chose to do home birth with Jessica!
The bonding time with our precious newborn baby after the delivery at home with my family (with my husband, my mom, and my step-son) was also very special and relaxing. At home post-natal check ups were also great (you don't have to travel with your recovering body and newborn baby). I think that really makes sense.
Jessica is very professional, confident, caring, fun and supportive! If you are thinking a home birth, I'll highly recommend her! Sasha

Not sure where to even begin! She was everything we were looking for and more. I had gone to 3 other Dr's before hand and decided to switch to a home birth after feeling like a piece of meat in a meat market (around 15 weeks). Never looked back!! She was ALWAYS there when we needed her and between my husband asking her every question possible (first time parent, so there were A LOT), to just being present and spending time with us and getting to know us as people for us was HUGE (think about it, this is a part of your life you'll never forever. Make it enjoyable right?!?) However the best part of everything with Jessica was the actual Birth. We wanted to tell people because it was such a great experience! This was a home water birth. Meaning that  it was at our home with no drugs, no needles; everything was all natural and my body, mind and determination did the work! So many people were scared for us because this isn't considered the "norm". Looking back on how quick and easy the labor was (besides our beautiful healthy baby), it was all worth it! Plus how many different view of people changed after seeing ours or hearing our story! Our families (who were both worried when we said we wanted to do a home birth) were SO impressed with Jessica after! She gave my husband and I time and space to progress but also knew just when to be there at the end when I needed more guidance and help!

She's amazing and would recommend her to anyone!!
8 hrs of labor (15 mins transition/3 pushes head, 2 more for the rest of her) she came out at 6:47pm on Oct 3rd. No pain really, no tearing. She latched right away, Super lucky for our first baby!) Candace

Jessica of Miracle of Life Midwifery is the answer to your midwife search! Jessica is warm, sweet, funny and most importantly experienced, intelligent, and thorough.  Our prenatals were a day I actually looked forward to! I never felt rushed or like we were just moving through a to-do list. When my two-year-old insisted on "helping" during our prenatal visits, Jessica encouraged her playfulness and never made me feel she was in the way. She was constantly available when I would text and always took my questions seriously.
My birth was fantastic. It felt like family having Jessica with us during the birth of our son. As she had done my entire pregnancy, Jessica addressed not only my physical needs but the emotional ones as well. This homebirth was filled with so much love and joy. I felt completely safe under Jessica's care. Her medical expertise was called to use and she handled things swiftly, calmly, and with obvious knowledge and skill.
My sister is now pregnant and I insisted she interviewed Jessica of Miracle of Life Midwifery. (She's now under her care too!) I can't think of a more sincere recommendation than the one you give your own family.
I don't know how many women get the opportunity to say this about their care provider, but I absolutely love Jessica! Lynzey

Jessica is very personable and knowledgeable. I was always comfortable with her throughout my whole pregnancy. She will set you up with all the tests you need/want, which I appreciated. My baby was breech for longer than I wanted and she had plenty of suggestions on how to get him to turn around and recommended a chiropractor which had experience with breeched babies. As my due date came and went, she was in contact with me every few days to see how things were going. My home birth went well and it was just as I wanted. I would recommend her and will use her again as my midwife if I have another child.-Tammi

I had my last baby with Jessica and it was an absolutely incredible experience. She was super attentive and supportive. Very encouraging but never pushy. It was confidant in my choice to use her and I loves that she has both a medical and holistic background. I am so grateful for my birth experience and I highly recommend her. Chami E.

"Although I had a supportive physician during my first experience with pregnancy, there were several health elements that were not addressed to allow for a strong pregnancy. As I explored my options, and interviewed doulas and midwives, I knew right away that I wanted Jessica walking this journey with us. She was genuinely gentle and caring from the onset. Furthermore, she was always available to answer questions or meet with me to offer support, assurance, and comfort. Some of the most important areas Jessica provided guidance with were:

Identifying birthing class options that were suitable for my spouse and I o Hypnobabies vs. Bradley
Nutrition
Exercise
What is typical and atypical in pregnancy?
Understanding changes in my body and fetal development
Assessing and creating a comfortable and safe birthing environment
Following my daughter’s birth, Jessica was with me to ensure we had meals readily available, were obtaining adequate sleep, and provided breastfeeding support. It is now one year later and we continue to maintain a relationship with Jessica. Her ongoing compassion for her clients is why she is the perfect choice for care." Michelle Gonzalez

"I knew from the get go I wanted Jess to be at my birth and along the journey.  It was evident that she clearly loves her job (very important in a midwife or a montrice .  We had a professional relationship at first.  I was looking for someone who had the experience and know how and she had both.  Her nursing degree and experience was a big bonus.  I am a stickler for detail, direct but sensitive at the same time.  She met all my needs.  She was straighforward with me but it was no doubt because she had my best interest at heart.  I also knew that if in the hopefully unlikely event I needed to birth at a hospital, she would be a very strong advocate to get me as close to my birth of choice.

Jess was instrumental in my home birth.  I had a long labor. Day 1 was easy but day 2 couldn't have dragged on any longer.  Jess was with us all of day 2 from ridiculously early phone  calls, then at my home from 3am to  24 hours after that.  She let the birth take its course, respecting the pace that me and my soon to be born baby needed to be in.  She was attentive to me and my husband's needs.  Oh God she gives the best massages!  She just knew how to ease the pain that I had to kick him out and let Jess take over.

Home birth elevated my relationship with everyone in my home (my husband, sister, mom but also my midwife and montrice) to such heights.  I consider Jess a life long friend.  She was there as I struggled post partum.   I have seen her take on major milestones in lighting pace - nursing board exams, midwife license and acceptance into Georgetown to get her master's degree.  All in a span of months.  I am blessed to be her friend." Not sure where to even begin!

She latched right away, Super lucky for our first baby!) C. G

Linzey

As a doula, I have had the pleasure of attending births with Jessica.  She is a deeply honest and caring person skilled in the art of midwifery.  My clients have felt heard and so well cared for with her by their side.   She is always extremely concerned for the wellbeing of her clients.  I cannot say enough about how wonderful she is and I feel lucky to have her in our birth community.  Thank you for your love and care and expertise Jessica.

Jessica is a wonderful midwife. She is caring, loving and very professional. I feel blessed that she was able to be my midwife. She goes above and beyond the normal care. Both my husband and I felt extremely safe with her as our midwife. Sarah K.

Fantastic.
After carefully studying birth and pregnancy, a few interviews of doulas and midwives, we met Jessica. At my first look on her website I thought on the back of my head "she seems so young". Still, her qualifications led me to our interview and she was a fit for us right away. Don't let her good young genes fool you :) there is lots of wisdom in that woman. She is knowledgeable, reliable, caring, experienced and happy. With close eyes upon my birth path, my closest family: a lawyer, a business man and a doctor. None found a flaw on Jessica's work. She was outstanding and exceeded our expectations, keeping us safe emotionally and physically from when our relationship started and still, after birth. She is always there for us. We care for her as she has cared for us. I had a great labor and delivery, immensely due to her direct support and indirect, through her recommendations of other professionals we saw along the way. My husband, mother and I, now also our baby, are so thankful we chose her to accompany us during this magical yet misterious time in our lives. Thank you!! Elena K.

Iris L.

Jessica was with me from when I first found out I was pregnant until after my baby was born. We would meet together and she would answer any of my questions and give me information and exercises to do. I loved that she could help me with all aspects of my pregnancy- the logistics of how to prepare my body and what to expect, and my feelings, fears, and expectations. She helped me through my labor which was very intense because it was my first and I had to be induced due to the laws and not being allowed to go past 42 weeks She knew how to get me induced without medication which was important to me, and gave me exactly what I needed through the whole 16 hours. She massaged me throughout the labor, and used words to relax me through each contraction.  Holding my baby the moment he was born was one of the greatest feelings in the world. I am so thankful to Jessica for making my son's entrance into the world beautiful and what I hoped for.-Noa K.

"Jessica’s experience, knowledge, and reassuring presence as our montrice was invaluable for a first time father, like myself. As with most couples, my wife and I faced unexpected decisions during our labor process. Jessica clearly explained what was happening and outcomes we could expect; removing any shred of confusion or worry. Having this confidence allowed me to focus on my wife’s comfort and made delivery the most endearing moment of our lives. I highly recommend Jessica as a montrice or midwife, she is perfect person to have by your side. "

I only made the decision of having a doula & midwife in my 9th month, and it was the best decision ever. From the moment I met jessica, I knew I had made the best choice. She was genuinely caring and supportive throughout pregnancy, birth and after delivery. She was always available to answer any questions and followed up see if there was anything i need. She understood exactly what I wanted and knew what I needed during labor it made my experience a whole lot better! I was relaxed and had peace of mind knowing I had Jessica to be with me during labor. This was my 4th child, and it has been the best birthing experience. I highly recommend Jessica!- Chanie Z.

"I have been experiencing immense writer’s block in writing this testimony. Today, after a few weeks of attempting to pen my thoughts, I finally realized the reasons for my mental impasse. Much of it has to do with the enormity of what I feel I want to convey to Jessica for her support and aid on the day we gave birth to our baby daughter. I fear that no words would be sufficient to allow me to express my gratitude to her. Nor to fully explain the pivotal role that she has played in helping me pull through one of the toughest, but most rewarding day of my life.

Although we had a long and challenging labor, today, we are blessed with a beautiful and healthy daughter who entered this world in the most serene and loving environment – our home. So much of this was made possible because of the support, knowledge and genuine love and care of Jessica. For this, we are eternally grateful." Thuy Duong

"Jessica is a kind, nurturing, patient, educated, experienced and all around wonderful person who happens to be extraordinary at what she does for her chosen profession.
Having her as at our birth, and guiding us prior to the birth, was one of the best things to happen our little family.

Jessica not only helped to keep me calm and focused during my labor, but also before and after.
My body had other plans than the birth plan I had created for it but Jessica stayed the course with me.
She stayed with me through the entire process and never left until she knew our son was safe in my arms.

After our son and I came home from the hospital, Jessica followed up with me to make sure both mama and baby we're doing well and then continued to follow up for several weeks after. In fact we still talk often and have lunch together when our busy schedules allow it.

She is invaluable to our family. I highly recommend her to anyone looking for a well experienced and incredibly nurturing birth team." Drea Resnick
